The European Union has announced it will allow car manufacturers in
the region to implement Ultra Wideband radar in new vehicles beginning later this year. Once fitted to a car, the radar
would be used to prevent or mitigate collisions by applying the brakes when an object appears in the car’s path. In
addition, the system could help prevent shunting when parking in tight spots as well as performing emergency stops when
driving down the road.
