Willcom Introduces the “Willcom Location Search Service”: “The ‘Willcom Location Search Service’ makes full use of the micro-cell network, made up of approximately 160,000 Willcom stations nationwide (approximately 23,000 base stations in Central Tokyo and 51,000 base stations in the Kanto area of Tokyo and the surrounding 6 prefectures) to perform location searches on not only outdoor places, but also on places that are difficult for GPS to reach, such as indoor locations, subway train platforms and underground shopping areas. In addition, users can perform location searches not only from browser-enabled Willcom phones, but also from their mobile phones or personal computers, to locate the position of Willcom phones easily.

This service is made available to subscribers who wish to have their Willcom phone located. For example, if a father wishes to search for the Willcom phone he has let his child carry, he will have to subscribe to the service. The ‘Willcom Location Search Service’ has the following two services.”
