NEC flexible battery: 0.3mm, 30 sec charge

NEC has developed a flexible battery that’s just 0.3mm thick, and can be charged in 30 seconds. The organic radical battery is designed for use in products such as RFID tags and electronic paper, and may also find its way into consumer products such as watches, where the battery can be incorporated into the band instead of the watch itself. The battery uses a gel-based polymer, which the company says is able to charge quickly (yeah, we’d say 30 seconds is fairly quick), and be recharged thousands of times.
