Michigan company recycles old cellphones to sell in developing countries

“A Michigan-based company that refurbishes recycled cellphones and sells them around the world says it is doing a profitable business while fulfilling the communications needs of people in developing countries.

ReCellular Inc. collects about 75,000 used phones a week, mostly from charitable donations, and fixes them up to be sold for about $18 each. The company says about 60% of them are reusable, with the rest sold for scrap”.
