SOAS ranked among top universities

12 Oct 2006

SOAS joins fellow London universities – Imperial, LSE, UCL and King’s College London – in the top 100 institutions in the World University Rankings.

Harvard University is rated as the world’s best university, with Cambridge and Oxford at number two and three in the World University Rankings. MIT, which last year claimed second place, is pushed to number four.

SOAS also triumphed in the European league tables, up 50 places to join the top 20 institutions in Europe.

SOAS Director and Principal, Professor Paul Webley, said: “It is great to see the School progressing up both European and World rankings this year. We are now working to continue this rise by looking for further areas of improvement in our strategy and delivery – we’re aiming for the top 10 next year.”
